BLOBITECTURE
The term "blob architecture" is a combination of the phrases "blob" and "architecture." Blobitecture is an architectural style that features structures with completely distinctive, organic forms, typically resembling a blob or an amoeba. Blob architecture, blobism, and blobismus are all terms used to describe this form of architecture.
21st Century Architecture
Blobitecture and Blob architecture (also known as Blobism) are words for a post-modern architectural style popular around the millennium's turn. This is a type of Bionic Architecture that was possibly influenced by improvements in digital graphics and 3D shapes, as well as nature and natural forms.
Blobism is a design trend that does exactly what it says on the tin. This blobby, curving design style has the appearance of a live, breathing entity. This is a costly design that requires custom-made materials and trained craftspeople to construct. It is most commonly seen in huge buildings. As a result, good instances of Blobitecture in the wild are quite rare!
Blobitecture Buildings
Blobism began in 2002 and has remained popular to this day. Only found in huge buildings, such as concert halls, museums, and large spaces. It is, perhaps, the pinnacle of twenty-first-century architecture.
Kunsthouse Graz (2003) – Sir Peter Cook & Colin Fournier
Locals refer to this art gallery as the "friendly alien." It's a stunning structure. It's completely 'different' from anything else around it. It has a blue acrylic exterior covered with light panels that illuminate the skyline at night. This magnificent structure and art museum may be seen in Graz, Austria.
Xanadu Houses (1979) – Roy Mason
This isn't a Blobitecture home, but it could be an early illustration of the style's inspiration. This bizarre experimental home seems more like something out of Star Wars than a practical dwelling. This style was probably certainly influenced by Blob Architecture.
The 1970s were a watershed moment in architecture, with a lot of hit-or-miss results. This Xanadu house is visually appealing and has many unique elements, but rather than copying it, it may be wiser to learn from it and build upon it.
It's awesome
